To the Ends of The Earth Ever thought about going on a short-term missions trip? Ever wondered what it would be like to pack up your whole life for a year or two (or more) and move to the other side of the world to serve the poor and share your faith? Three girls will share their personal experiences of life on the mission field. Ange Stephens spent several years working with children from Kenya's Kibera slum. Esther Ballantyne worked for twelve months as a midwife in a mission hospital in Zambia. And, at just 15, Sophie Botta's getting ready for her third short-term mission trip to India. The Single Life Some girls love being single, others loathe it. Tish Shelton, Sarah Strahorn and Carly Shaw are living proof that you can fly solo and survive and be happy! Come along to hear some tips on making the most of your single status and not settling for second-best when it comes to relationships. Whoa Mama! Motherhood can be incredibly rewarding but it can also be a really tough gig. Why is it some mums seem to be able to juggle everything beautifully - kids, career, relationships, church, study - and others struggle just to get changed out of their pj's before dinner time? Is it realistic for modern mums to expect they can "have it all"? Come and hear Tanya Gordon - a busy mum-of-three and Australia's most un-coordinated, trained dancer - talk candidly about mothering mistakes she's made along the way, important lessons learned, and the ongoing challenge of keeping her priorities straight and her dreams alive at the same time. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You may even pick up an unco dance move or two. Head Space Have you ever struggled with depression or anxiety? Tried to support someone with a mental illness? It's a tough road to go down but there is hope and there is help. Ingrid Sorensen and Tanya Gordon both faced debilitating mental health issues, and thought life would never be normal again. In fact, neither of them thought they would survive. Today, they are both well and truly "back in action", living full lives and using their experiences to help others struggling with similar issues. Find out what the recovery process looked like for both girls, what they do now to stay healthy, and how their journeys have affected their relationship with God. Psychologist, Sandra Baker, will also be on hand to provide some great advice on how to access help and how to support a friend or family member who's struggling with a mental health issue. Braver Than You Think You Are For one woman, an ultrasound in the 20th week of her pregnancy revealed her baby was not developing normally. Abortion was repeatedly suggested as the best option. For another young woman, a pregnancy test confirmed her worst fears: at 17, she was carrying her boyfriend's baby. To her, the unmarried daughter of a Baptist pastor, an abortion seemed her only way out. Both women had to make life-changing decisions. Come and hear April and Jemima's inspiring and courageous stories. What's My Calling? Do you have a desire to serve God but you're not quite sure what He wants you to do? How can you find out which direction He wants you to go in? How can you tell if it's God talking or just a great idea you had yourself? You'll hear from girls that have all struggled with these questions and, in finding the answers for their own lives, have learnt some pretty cool stuff about themselves, faith and God along the way. Get some tips on how to discern God's will for your life and how to recognise His voice. For Better or Worse The divorce stats aren't pretty and Christians certainly aren't immune to marriage breakdown. Stacey Peric and Julie Flatt will talk about the good, the bad and the ugly that they've experienced in their own marriages, what they've learnt in the process and offer some practical advice on things you can do to give your marriage the best chance to survive. A great elective whether you are hoping to get married someday, are engaged right now, or have already said "I do". Boys, boys, boys. They're everywhere! What does God think about sex? Is it ok to be as intimate as you want with a guy as long as you don't go "all the way"? How far is too far? Is it ok to go out with a guy who doesn't believe in God? I feel guilty about what I'm doing with my boyfriend but why is it so hard to stop? All my friends have boyfriends. Is there something wrong with me because I don't? If I really love my boyfriend and know that I'm going to marry him eventually, does it really matter if we don't wait until we're married to have sex? If you've got questions like these running through your brain, or you're trying to help a friend who's wrestling with these issues, come and get some great advice from others girls who've made some good and not-so-good decisions about sex and relationships. Learn from their experiences so that you can make healthy choices when it comes to guys.
